proposal_1º

A Public Demonstration:

A proposed exercise in channeling the spirit(s) of your ancestors - through you - becoming a mediator ​of their voice - through water, bottle and string and your own voice.


This is an exercise in respecting social distance while Diverting the Ego Through the Visual image of sound - What Unites Us ?


All attending individuals are encouraged to participate. Participants are spaced at least 5 meters apart and given a plastic bottle attached to a string which leads to a fixed central point.


Each participant is encouraged to concentrate on channeling their own connection with spirit / with their own ancestors' spirit(s), without referencing or collaborating with the accompanying participants.


As each participant is moved by their spirit, their spirit should begin to sound - by way of the string and bottle provided, and through their own voice and body.


With proper space provided, we hope that one is able to feel at peace, undistracted - to maintain focus with their ancestors' spirit(s) and tune out the other participants to the best of their ability.


As each participant finds their own connection, in time, we find a unique harmony coming from the mix of ancestor spirits sounding through the participants. An exercise in Diverting the ego Through the Visual image of Sound - What Unites Us ?

A Virtual Mixed Media Public Art Demonstration:

A proposed exercise in channeling the spirit(s) of your ancestors - through you - becoming a mediator of their voice - through water, bottle and string and your own voice.

A curated group of individuals will meet on a split-screen compatible video conference platform. Having a plastic bottle attached to a string leading to a fixed point (off camera), each participant is encouraged to concentrate on channeling their own connection with spirit / with their own ancestors' spirit(s), without referencing or collaborating with the accompanying participants.



As each participant is moved by their spirit, their spirit should begin to sound - by way of the string and bottle, and through their own voice and body. A Live Performance:

Held at select outdoor and indoor locations, this live performance is open to the public yet is intended to be actuated by a curated group of participants, from varying ethnic, cultural, ancestral makeups.


Each artist in the selected group works to concentrate on channeling their own spirit / their own ancestors' spirit(s), without intentional collaborating or referencing the accompanying artists.


As each participating artist is moved by the spirit, they begin to sound according with their spirit, in union with their chosen instrument.
